Ode to my Love Story

This is a new series that I started in the early spring (2019). It is on going and I will continue to add pieces until I feel it is finished. Since they are all on paper I am thinking of maybe turning this into a book when it’s finished.

The Golden Ballerina

This piece was a labor of love, I really loved creating it.

It stands at about 5 feet tall and about 2 feet across. Almost all of the materials used were recycled & repurposed. The entire thing is mounted on cardboard that I painted, the dancers form is also made from cardboard that I ripped the top layer off of & then painted. Her hair was made from paper towels, her crown from doilies & bottle caps. Her bodice is a mix of doilies & cardboard left over from my sons Nintendo labo kit. the skirt is packaging material that was packed with an amazon package I received along with her belt of bottle caps. Her point shoes are cardboard and a mixture of ribbon I had laying around.
